Our History

Lifescape Colorado has been shaping exceptional outdoor spaces for nearly five decades. Founded in 1976 by Charles “Randy” Randolph, the company was inspired by his travels to California, where he admired the seamless integration of landscapes and outdoor living. Wanting to bring that vision to Colorado, Randy established one of Denver’s first high-touch, design-build landscape companies. Working from a charming Victorian home in uptown Denver, he built a business rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for outdoor living.

Over time, Lifescape evolved into something even greater. Michael Hupf, a Nebraska native with a Stanford MBA, saw an opportunity to expand the company’s potential. Over the course of four years, he transitioned into ownership, growing Lifescape from a design-focused firm into a full-service company offering landscape architecture, construction, and ongoing property care.

His leadership has transformed Lifescape into a highly respected, award-winning company that continues to thrive. Today, the company operates out of a repurposed church in central Denver, blending modern innovation with a rich history of craftsmanship.
